Our tours: terms and conditions

Amendments to Bookings

For any changes to your booking after your itinerary is confirmed, we will make every effort to meet your wishes. However, an administration fee of NZ$50 may be charged per set of booking amendments.

Alterations to Travel

Once your itinerary has commenced, any requests for changes must be made with us directly, because of the contractual obligations we have made on your behalf.

Cancellations

For cancellations received more than 90 days before arrival date, a full refund will be made less NZ$200 per person for administration/handling fee (plus any penalties Birding Tours New Zealand may incur due to your cancellation – i.e. air reservations ). For cancellations made within 90 days of arrival, the full deposit is forfeited. The full tour cost is forfeited if a cancellation is received within 30 days of arrival

A cancellation can only be accepted in writing from the person who made the booking and will be effective from the date received by us.

Your travel insurance conditions may provide cover for refund of your cancellation charges. Your insurance is recommended to include medical and medical transport cover.

Refunds

No refunds will be made on any un-used or partially-used sections of your itinerary once travel has commenced, except in extenuating circumstances. Your own travel insurance may provide cover.

Birding Tours New Zealand will not be liable for any refunds for un-used or partially-used travel arising from the unlikely need to change any arrangements to ensure the safety and/or further participation and enjoyment of your holiday.

Legal Responsibilities

Price Variations

All prices are subject to change in the event of alterations or fluctuations in fares, tariffs, taxes or other items forming part of your inclusive itinerary costs. We will advise any changes as soon as possible.

Liability

Birding Tours New Zealand is not in any way liable for any loss or damage from alterations, delay or changes arising from unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond its control, such as threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist act, industrial dispute, natural or man-made disaster, fire, adverse weather, technical problems with transport or closure or congestion or airports and ports.

Compensation will not be payable if we need to cancel or amend your travel arrangements due to any of the above circumstances.

Responsibility

Birding Tours New Zealand acts as agent for some of the operators represented in the itineraries.

The company accepts no responsibility for any failure to provide any of the services or activities described in the itineraries.

The provision of the service is upon the terms and conditions specified by the provider thereof. Birding Tours New Zealand does not accept any liability for any death, injury, delay, inconvenience; cost or expense incurred arising out of or in connection with the participation or use of any service described in these itineraries.

Law and Jurisdiction

i Any matters arising in relation to the contract of passage between you and Birding Tours New Zealand is governed by New Zealand law and subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand.
